Lesson Plan ideas

  • Give the students the task of writing in a particular format. For example: a dialog between two characters in a book they're reading, a dialog in a second language they're learning; a poetic form like haiku or diamanté, a standard five part essay or a news account using the elements of who, what, where, when and why with the most important information at the top.
  • Have students write a letter, a simulated diary entry of a famous person, a Wikipedia entry for their neighborhood or for some object you bring into the classroom.
